Company profile

Past and present

The Ossam foundry in Lovech was established at the beginning of 1980. From the outset, it was designed for castings of malleable cast iron. In accordance with world trends in metal casting work, the foundry  produced the first ductile cast iron castings in the same year, and by 1983 had focused its whole capacity on this type of production.

The main facilities of the plant - melting units, moulding lines, cores making shop and mixture preparation are designed for large scale and mass production castings. These are castings for transport machinery: engine-powered tractors and electric trucks, trucks and passenger cars, agricultural machines, etc.

These activities continue today, supplemented by a large range of castings for water and gas industry - fittings, which are one of the main products now and destined for export.

A principal trend in the company's development is up-to-date technology. The implemention of new processes, materials and methods (e,g computer design, off-furnace treatment of the metal, modification, making of the cores, computer simulation of the casting processes and patters, etc.) leads to increased efficiency of production and improved quality of the castings.
